• Engaged in evaluating, negotiating, structuring, and executing various domestic and international Mergers and Acquisition (M & A) transactions for Companies.
• Advising early stage and growth startups on the suitable entity structure. building finance, accounts and governance capabilities, reporting systems, controls and processes – like Management Information System (MIS), cash flow management, budget vs actual variance, fund raise strategy and due diligence. Closely engaged with some growth stage startups and have handheld them in their journey since incorporation.
• Leads the Assurance vertical and has independently handled several corporate engagements over a decade. He has versatile ability to seamlessly work on Assurance matters as well advise client on crucial advisory matters.

Dharmesh Thakkar began his career as an article with reputed CA firm ’Sukhbir & Associates’, under the guidance of highly experience and a rank holder CA Mr. Sahni. He also completed his LLB (Gen). In 2011 he has enrolled as a member of the ICAI.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Dharmesh joined the Taxation Department of KPMG. During this tenure he acquired good experience in Direct Tax Laws, and extensive experience in handling proceedings before the Assessing Officers, Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) and the Income-tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT). He advised clients on various issues under the Income Tax Act, Wealth Tax Act and Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements.

At A S D T & CO, Dharmesh handles various International Assignments and Tax Practice (Global as well as Domestic). Dharmesh undertook system controls verification assignment of a renowned company in Singapore (Oil and Gas Industry).

Dharmesh also conducted a Propriety Audit (explore Cost saving opportunities) of a UK based Pharma Company. The same involved value addition for improvement of the existing systems.

Dharmesh’s interests range from Computer Forensics to boating. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Crime Investigation, from the Asian School of Law.

Dharmesh now associated with A S D T & CO, heads the Direct tax (Income Tax, Litigation, Consultancy etc.) practice of the Firm.

Arpit Jain embarked on his professional journey as an article trainee at N A Shah & Associates, a prestigious CA firm, after achieving a rank in both the intermediate and final CA exams in 2008. As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), he gained comprehensive experience in audit, assurance, and compliance services across diverse industries and corporate houses during his article ship.

Arpit further enhanced his expertise by clearing CFA Level 1 and completing an indirect taxation certification course from ICAI. He then joined Deloitte Haskins & Sells, a multinational audit and assurance firm, where he expanded his professional experience.

In 2010, Arpit transitioned into CA practice, focusing on audit, assurance, direct tax, and indirect tax services, leveraging his pre- and post-qualification experience. Currently, at A S D T, Arpit leads the indirect tax practice, specializing in GST, service tax, VAT, excise, and more, with nearly a decade of hands-on experience.

Notably, Arpit has extensive experience working with corporates, MNCs, and public sector undertakings, particularly in implementing GST in 2017. He has advised clients on various GST-related matters, including refunds, departmental audits, assessments, and litigation, showcasing his expertise in the field.
